Terms of Service

Last updated May 12, 2026

These terms govern your use of Token-Router. By creating an account, calling our API, or registering an instance to serve traffic, you agree to be bound by them.

1. The service

Token-Router operates an OpenAI-compatible API gateway. Developers ("consumers") call our /v1/* endpoints with a bearer key and spend credits. Independent operators ("providers") register model-serving endpoints they control and earn credits for the traffic those endpoints handle.

2. How requests are processed — please read

Token-Router is a distributed network. When you submit a request to our API, we route it to one or more independent provider endpoints — peers — operated by third parties who have registered to serve traffic on the network. The full contents of your request, including your prompts, messages, system instructions, and any other input you send, are transmitted to and visible to the peer endpoint that processes it. The provider's server sees the request in cleartext in order to generate a response.

We do not offer end-to-end encryption between you and the provider, and we do not control what a provider does with a request after it is delivered to their endpoint. Providers agree to the Provider Terms below, but you should not send data through Token-Router that you would not be comfortable exposing to an independent third party. In particular, do not send protected health information, payment card data, or other regulated material that requires a Business Associate Agreement or similar contract; we do not offer one.

Token-Router itself sees request and response metadata (account identifier, model, token counts, timing, error classification) for metering, dispatch, rate limiting, and abuse prevention. We do not need to retain request or response bodies to operate the gateway and, by default, do not.

3. Accounts and credits

You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and any API keys you issue. Keys starting with vk_live_ authorize requests against your credit balance; treat them like passwords. Credits are a prepaid usage unit, are non-refundable except where required by law, and have no cash value outside of the service.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Token-Router to:

  • generate content that violates applicable law, including material that sexually exploits minors, incites violence, or infringes third-party rights;
  • attempt to deanonymize, attack, or interfere with a provider's infrastructure, or to circumvent rate limits, quotas, or billing;
  • submit content you are not authorized to share with a third party, including regulated personal data for which you lack a lawful basis to disclose;
  • resell the service in a way that conceals from your end users that their prompts will be processed by third-party peers.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

5. Provider terms

If you register a model-serving endpoint on the network, you represent that you own or have the right to operate the underlying infrastructure and to serve the models you list. You agree to:

  • process incoming requests in good faith and only for the purpose of generating the requested response;
  • not store, log, share, sell, or train on request or response data beyond what is strictly necessary to operate your endpoint, and to delete any such transient data promptly;
  • comply with the licenses of the models you serve and with applicable export, sanctions, and privacy laws;
  • keep the upstream secrets you provide to Token-Router confidential and rotate them if exposed.

Earned credits accrue based on metered usage at the rates shown in your dashboard at the time the work was performed.

6. Content and intellectual property

You retain ownership of the inputs you submit and, subject to applicable law and the underlying model license, of the outputs you receive. You grant Token-Router and the provider that handles a given request a limited, non-exclusive license to process that request solely to deliver the response. We claim no other rights in your content.

7. Disclaimers

Token-Router is provided "as is" and "as available." Outputs from large language models can be inaccurate, biased, or unsafe; you are responsible for evaluating outputs before relying on them. We do not guarantee that any specific provider, model, or capacity will be available at any given time, and the network's behavior may change as providers join and leave. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Token-Router and its affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of your use of the service. Our aggregate liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid Token-Router in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. When we make a material change we will update the "Last updated" date and, where reasonable, notify active accounts. Your continued use of the service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
